ABOUT CHITRA LANE SCHOOL
FOR THE SPECIAL CHILD
Established in
1967, the Chitra Lane School is a government
approved charity. It is a day school providing
educational, vocational, and extra curricular
for 265 intellectually impaired children between
the ages of 5-22 years. The aim of the school
is to help those with special needs to develop
to their fullest potential thus, enabling them
to lead independent and useful lives, both at
home and in the community.

ABOUT YOUR VOLUNTEER
WORK
Infant Stimulation Programme-
Aimed at infants
from birth -2 years, this programme emphasizes
early detection and intervention. Consultants
assess each child and his/her family and a tailor
made programme is implemented according to their
particular needs. These in-house sessions are
continued at home by the parents/care givers.
Minimum
Age – 17 yrs and above
Skills/Experience Required – Volunteers
should have a genuine interest in working with
Infants to young adults who have intellectual
impairments and special needs. Training will
be provided.
